Subject: Extension of Permit Parking Hours on Hamilton Street, between Thompson Street and Dundas Street East
(Don River)
Purpose:
To report on the extension of permit parking hours on Hamilton Street, between Thompson Street and Dundas Street East,
from 12:01 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., 7 days a week, to 12:01 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., 7 days a week.
Financial Implications and Impact Statement:
There are no financial implications resulting from the adoption of this report.
Recommendations:
It is recommended that:
(1) the permit parking hours of operation on Hamilton Street, between Thomspon Street and Dundas Street East, be
extended from 12:01 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., 7 days a week, to 12:01 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., 7 days a week;
(2) Part P of Schedule XXVI (Permit Parking), of Municipal Code Chapter 400, Traffic and Parking, of the former City of
Toronto Municipal Code, be amended to incorporate Hamilton Street, between Thompson Street and Dundas Street East;
and
(3) the appropriate City Officials be authorized and directed to take the necessary action to give effect thereto.
Background:
A request was received from Councillor Pam McConnell to have the permit parking hours extended on Hamilton Street,
between Thompson Street and Dundas Street East, from 12:01 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., 7 days a week, to 12:01 a.m. to 10:00
a.m., 7 days a week.
Comments:
Hamilton Street, between Thompson Street and Dundas Street East, is authorized for permit parking on an area basis,
within permit area 7F, and the hours of operation are 12:01 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., 7 days a week.
The extension of permit parking hours on Hamilton Street, between Thompson Street and Dundas Street East, is an
administrative procedure.
Conclusions:
Given that the extension of permit parking hours on Hamilton Street, between Thompson Street and Dundas Street East, is
an administrative procedure, it is recommended that the hours be amended to indicate 12:01 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., 7 days a
week.
