To: Toronto Community Council
From: Director, Transportation Services District 1
Subject: Installation of on-street disabled persons' parking spaces.
(Don River, High Park and York Humber.)
Purpose:
To report on requests for the installation of a number of disabled persons' on-street parking spaces.
Financial Implications and Impact Statement:
Funds to undertake the necessary signage adjustments in the estimated amount of $1,600.00 are contained in the
Transportation Services Division 2000 Operating Budget interim appropriations.
Recommendations:
(1) That the installation of disabled persons' on-street parking spaces as noted in Table "A" of this report be approved; and
(2) That the appropriate City Officials be requested to take whatever action is necessary to give effect to the foregoing,
including the introduction in Council of any Bills that may be required.
Comments:
Works and Emergency Services' staff have investigated the feasibility of installing a number of on-street disabled persons'
parking spaces at various locations as outlined in the attached Table "A" of this report.
For locations where on-street disabled persons' parking spaces are being established, all applicants are holders of valid
disabled persons' parking permits issued by the Ministry of Transportation and the designated space will not result in the
deprivation of more than one on-street parking space.
