Re: Children's Water Institute - For information

Dear Colleagues,

My office has been recently approached by the Children's Water Institute, a non-profit organization set up to educate our kid's about all things related to water pollution and water conservation.

They have indicated that the Toronto District School Board and the TRCA may be interested in hosting an event this coming year for Earth Day at Black Creek Pioneer Village. This is a great event, and should this all work out, I will encourage all of you to attend.

As such, I wanted to let you know that this is happening, and that our Committee should formally request our Works staff to see what assistance could be offered by the city. We have an excellent communications unit in our department and I am sure they could work this into their plans for next year. We have numerous displays and one-day shows that we could put on for our kids.
