Subject:2000 Operating Budget Preliminary Review

The Budget Advisory Committee, having completed its preliminary review of the 2000 Operating Budget, directed that:

(1)the 2000 Operating Budget be forwarded to the relevant Standing Committees for consideration; and

(2)the Standing Committees be requested to forward their recommendations pertaining to the 2000 Operating Budget to the Budget Advisory Committee prior to the commencement of the 'wrap-up' meeting on April 3, 2000.

The Budget Advisory Committee reports having provided the Members of the Standing Committees with the preliminary requests of the Budget Advisory Committee for information.

Background:

The Chief Administrative Officer and the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer made an overview presentation to the Budget Advisory Committee on the 2000 Preliminary Operating Budget.

The Budget Advisory Committee had before it the following 2000 Operating Budget Programs:

(1)Solid Waste Management Services;

(2)Transportation Services;

(3)WES - Support Services; and

(4)WES - Technical Services.
