SUBJECT:Overlay Program In East Section of District 3 - Contract No. 00D3-110RD

Tender Call No. 12-2000 - Various Wards

 Purpose:

The purpose of this report is to advise the results of the Tender issued for the Overlay Program in the East Section of District 3 and to request the authority to issue a contract to the recommended bidder.

Sources of Funds:

Funds to cover the cost of the work are available in the Approved Transportation Capital Works Program, "Local Road Resurfacing - North York".

Recommendation:

It is recommended that the Contract No. 00D3-110RD, Tender Call No. 12-2000 for the Overlay Program in the East Section of District 3, be awarded to Furfari Paving Co. Ltd. in the total amount of $1,449,152.10 including all taxes and charges, being the lowest Tender received.

Background:

The Bid Committee at its meeting held on February 23, 2000 opened the following Tenders for Contract No. 00D3-110RD, Tender Call No. 12-2000 for the Overlay Program in the East Section of District 3.

Comments:

The Tender documentation submitted by the recommended bidder has been reviewed by the Commissioner of Works & Emergency Services and was found to be in conformance with the Tender requirements.

The Manager, Fair Wage and Labour Trades Office has reported favorably on the firm recommended.

Conclusion:

This report requests authority to issue a contract for the Overlay Program in the East Section of District 3, in accordance with specifications to Furfari Paving Co. Ltd., being the lowest tender received.
