Subject:Tender No. 5-2000 - Contract EB0080WS - Watermain Cleaning and Cement Mortar Lining on Various Streets,
Etobicoke, Lakeshore, Queensway.
Purpose:
The purpose of this report is to advise the results of the tender issued for Watermain Cleaning and cement Mortar Lining
on Various Streets in Etobicoke, Lakeshore, Queensway in accordance with specifications as required by the Works and
Emergency services Department and to request the authority to issue a contract to the recommended bidder.
Sources of Funds:
Interim funds in the amount of $ 1,500,000.00 are available to commence the project under Project/WBS Element
CPW502-25 - Etobicoke Watermain Cleaning and Lining. The remaining balance of $ 1,063,024.50 will be available upon
final budget approval of the Capital Budget expected in April 2000. The Water and Wastewater Services Division has
submitted a preliminary budget for the above project - Watermain Cleaning and Cement Mortar Lining for former
Etobicoke in the amount of $ 4,850,000.00 for the 2000 program.
Recommendations:
It is recommended that:
(1)Contract No. EB0080WS, Tender No. 5-2000 for Watermain Cleaning and Cement Mortar Lining on Various Streets
(Etobicoke, Lakeshore, Queensway) be awarded to Fer-Pal Construction in the total amount of $2,563,024.50 including all
atxes and charges, being the lowest tender received. (2)Appropriate City Officials be authorized and directed to take the necessary action to implement the foregoing.
Background:
The Bid Committee, at its meeting held on February 16, 2000 opened the following tenders for Contract No. EB0080WS,
Tender No. 5-2000 for Watermain Cleaning and Cement Mortar Lining on Various Streets in Etobicoke, Lakeshore,
Queensway.

Comments:
The Tender documentation submitted by the recommended bidder has been reviewed by the Commissioner of Works and
Emergency Services and was found to be in conformance with the Tender requirements. The Manager, Fair Wage and
Labour Trades Office has reported favourably on the firm recommended.
Conclusions:
This report requests authority to issue a contract for Watermain Cleaning and Cement Mortar Lining on Various Streets in
Etobicoke, Lakeshore, Queensway in accordance with specifications to Fer-Pal Construction at the tender price quoted,
being the lowest tender received.
