Parking Prohibition - Claver Avenue - North York Spadina
The North York Community Council recommends the adoption of the following report
(January 4, 2000) from the Director, Transportation Services, District 3, Works and
Emergency Services:
Purpose:
To amend the existing parking prohibitions on the north side of Claver Avenue.
Financial Implications and Impact Statement:
The funds necessary to amend the parking restrictions are contained within the Division's operating
budget.
Recommendations:
It is recommended that Schedule VIII of By-law No. 31001, of the former City of North York, be
amended to prohibit parking at any time on the north side of Claver Road, from Corona Street to a
point 60 metres east of Dufferin Street.
Background:
Currently, parking is prohibited on the north side of Claver Avenue, between of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00
p.m., Monday to Friday, from Dufferin Street to a point 91.5 metres east and at any time from a point
91.5 metres east of Dufferin Street to Corona Street.
Comments:
Evening and weekend parking is only permitted on the north side of the roadway, adjacent to 28
Claver Avenue and the Canada Post Postal outlet to the west. On the remaining portion of the north
side of the roadway, parking is prohibited at all times.
This parking condition has prompted the residents at 28 Claver Avenue to request an extension to
the existing parking prohibitions to include the frontage of their property.
Conclusions:
The installation of the parking prohibition adjacent to 28 Claver Avenue will marginally affect the
availability of on street parking.
