Exemption - Front Yard Parking By-law -
Tree Planting - 13 Herbert Avenue (East Toronto)
The Toronto Community Council recommends that the requirement to
plant a tree or paying a fee for the planting of a tree with respect to
the application for Front Yard Parking at 13 Herbert Street be waived.
The Toronto Community Council reports, for the information of Council,
having requested the Commissioner of Works and Emergency Services
and the Commissioner of Urban Development Services, in consultation
with appropriate officials, to report to the appropriate committee on fees
charged to senior citizens over 65 and on fixed income, for such matters
as Encroachment Agreements for repair or restoration of walkways or
retaining walls, Front Yard Parking and Permit Parking, and any other
such matters.
The Toronto Community Council submits the following communication
(December 6, 1999) from Councillor Tom Jakobek:
I have attached for your perusal a copy of a letter received from Mrs.
Norma Lee, resident at 13 Herbert Avenue, requesting to be exempt from
planting a tree as part of her Front Yard Parking application.
As you will see by her letter Ms. Lee has already two trees in front of her
property and she also contributed to plant one in our parks.
Please give her request your utmost consideration and exempt her from
planting a tree on her property.
(Communication (December 2, 1999) from Ms. Norma Lee, referred to in
the foregoing communication, was forwarded to all Members of the
Toronto Community Council with the agenda for its meeting on January
18, 2000, and a copy thereof is on file in the office of the City Clerk).
