Since then, Council has adopted several staff reports providing direction about the transformation of TCHC. Key reports can be found in the related information field below.
Accomplishments to Date:
- A new Funding Model for TCHC was implemented. The new funding model includes funding for operating and capital budgets
- The creation of an Annual Mandate Direction document that allows the City to provide direction to TCHC in priority areas
- A new way to select Tenant Directors on the TCHC Board which utilizes the City's public appointment system
- The start of the implementation of the Integrated Service Model, a new way of delivering housing and supports to tenants in the senior housing portfolio at TCHC
- The transfer of a small number of houses to agencies that work in City priority areas.
Current Work
The Tenants First Project Management Office works to implement the Council adopted recommendations in the above reports.
The current work includes:
- The creation of a new Seniors Housing Corporation to operate TCHC's 83 seniors-designated buildings
- An updated Shareholder Direction for TCHC
- The transfer of TCHC's scattered house portfolio to the non-profit sector.
