As of January 1st, 2012, Community Care East York and WoodGreen Community Services integrated their activities and operations to form a single organization under the name WoodGreen Community Services. Both organizations are very well regarded for delivering high quality services for seniors, adults with disabilities and their caregivers in east Toronto.
WoodGreen Community Centre started off as an East-end neighbourhood centre in 1937 and while its mission has not changed, the breadth of its services and the way it deliver them has evolved dramatically. From one location at 835 Queen Street, the Centre have grown to more than 15 locations throughout the East end of the city and hundreds of partners that it collaborate with to meet the growing needs of its clients.
