A Statutory Public Meeting regarding the Official Plan Amendment Application for the redevelopment of the Agincourt Mall lands will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 10 a.m. The meeting will be held in Scarborough Civic Centre in the Council Chambers on the 1st floor.  A Final Report on the Official Plan Amendment Application will be considered at this meeting.

The purpose of the second Local Advisory Committee (LAC) meeting was to receive feedback from LAC members on the preliminary development options for the mall site that were developed based on the Design Charrette workshop and feedback from the general community. LAC members also provided feedback to refine and finalize the guiding principles that are intended to guide development on the mall site.

The City hosted a community consultation meeting on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the Agincourt Mall. The purpose of the community consultation meeting was to introduce and discuss details of the Official Plan Amendment application submitted by the applicant for the redevelopment of the Agincourt Mall site, to provide information about the review process and seek feedback from the public.

The community consultation meeting consisted of an open house with information display boards prepared by both the City of Toronto staff and the applicant’s consultant team. In addition to the open house, presentations were provided by City Planning staff and the applicant’s architect, followed by a question & answer session.

Approximately 250 attended the meeting. City of Toronto staff, Councillors Kelly and Karygiannis, as well as the applicant and their consultant team attended the meeting.

The City hosted a Design Charrette (Visioning Workshop) on Saturday, January 20, 2018 as part of the Agincourt Mall Planning Framework Review.

The purpose of the Design Charrette was to allow participants to collaborate on a vision for the Agincourt Mall and surrounding area. The Charrette was a focused and structured workshop and a creative brainstorming session to create visions for the Agincourt Mall site and surrounding area.

Summary notes of the November 6th Open House

Meeting Overview

The first public consultation meeting for the Agincourt Mall Planning Framework Review took place on Monday, November 6, 2017, at the Agincourt Mall (3850 Sheppard Avenue East). An open house format was used and included two identical presentations, one in the afternoon and one in the evening.

The purpose of the Open House was to:

  • Raise awareness, generate interest and provide information about the Agincourt Mall Planning Framework Review;
  • Engage with the community to better understand existing conditions, challenges and opportunities;
  • Engage with the community to jointly develop a Vision with Guiding Principles for the redevelopment of the Agincourt Mall site and how it can best be integrated with the surrounding area; and
  • Advise the public on how they can get involved in the Study.

This event was part of the first phase of the Agincourt Mall Planning Framework Review. City staff from various Divisions, including City Planning, Transportation Services, Engineering & Construction Services and Parks, Forestry & Recreation were present at the event to answer questions and engage with attendees. Representatives from TTC, Metrolinx and School Boards were also in attendance to answer questions.

The event consisted of an open house format with information boards on display. Staff were available at all of the boards to provide information and clarification to attendees and gather feedback. In addition to the open house format, two identical presentations were provided by City Planning staff to introduce the Agincourt Mall Planning Framework Review and its purpose at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Approximately 400 people attended the open house. People of different age ranges, from children to seniors and of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds attended.

The Agincourt Mall proposal was presented for first Review at the Design Review Panel on October 12th, 2017.
