TOnow is a staff network for female-identifying staff and allies who work in the Toronto Public Service. The network is run by a staff Steering Committee and governed by female-identifying, Senior City Executives who focus on providing events and opportunities to its more than 2,000 members. Most events organized by TOnow can be attended by any member of the public, and are inclusive to people of all genders.
TOnow encourages equality, increases leadership, enhances professional development and promotes achievements of women in the Toronto Public Service.
The network’s mandate is to advance the personal and professional development of women in the Toronto Public Service by providing capacity building opportunities to enhance their knowledge base, skill sets and abilities. TOnow is an inclusive group focused on women in the Toronto Public Service and welcome all members and allies.
TOnow leverages the collective experience of our membership to support their growth and development in the organization through knowledge sharing, open spaces and reciprocity. The network focuses on celebrating women’s successes and supporting their leadership and professional development. TOnow hopes to reduce some of the inequities facing women of all ethnicities in Toronto and around the world by discussing important issues in order to create awareness in hopes of facilitating change.
Through events and workshops, members benefit from opportunities to connect with other colleagues across the Toronto Public Service and other organizations, learn valuable skills, and find out about career paths in the public service and beyond.
