Diana Park is being revitalized in order to better serve the community! The improvements will include upgrades to the existing children’s playground, a new multi-use fitness trail, outdoor fitness equipment, and additional gathering spaces and seating.

Project Timelines

  • November 2019: First public consultation meeting for the project
  • November 2020: Design development and public consultation
  • Spring/Summer 2021: Construction tender
  • Fall 2021: Construction

Diana Park is a small park located at 46A Diana Dr. near Keele Street and Sheppard Avenue West. The park and playground will be enhanced to upgrade the existing equipment and improve accessibility. The redesigned park will include:

  • A new playground with engineered wood fibre safety surfacing
  • A new multi-use trail loop
  • Outdoor fitness equipment
  • Additional seating and gathering spaces
  • A water bottle filling station

The improvements to Diana Park will be developed through consultation with the community.

Park Layout Option 1

Proposed Playground and Outdoor Fitness Options

The City has developed three design options for the playground and fitness equipment. The new playground will sit on top of Engineered Wood Fibre, a woodchip-like play surfacing.

Option 1

Playground option 1 includes a junior and senior play structure, swings, see saw, spinner and spring toy.

Option 1 playground design includes:

  • A junior play structure with slides, a play panel, climber, and shade canopy
  • A senior play structure with a horizontal ladder, slide, play panels, climber, step climber, stepping stones, fireman’s pole and shade canopy
  • Two senior, one junior and one accessible swing
  • Seesaw
  • Spinner
  • Spring toy

Option 1 for the fitness station includes push-up bars, pull-up Bars, balance beams, step benches, parallel bar and instruction panels.

Online Survey

The City conducted an online survey to gather feedback from the community on the proposed improvements to Diana Park. The results from the survey will inform the development of the project and the final design. The survey was available to complete from November 17 to December 8, 2020. The results will be posted here in January 2021.

Virtual Public Meeting

The City will be conducted a virtual public meeting to present the design options for the park improvements and gather feedback from the community. Two design concepts for the park and three design concepts for the playground and outdoor fitness equipment were presented. The feedback gathered at this meeting will help inform the design development of the project.
