Learn more about the improvements coming to Melbourne Avenue Parkette at the online public meeting on November 17, 2020, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The City is planning improvements to the playground in Melbourne Avenue Parkette and will be engaging the community to determine a new site-appropriate playground enhancement to meet the needs of park users.

Project Timeline

  • Winter 2021: Detailed design
  • Spring 2021: Construction procurement
  • Summer to Fall 2021: Construction

Melbourne Avenue Parkette is a small park located at 7 Melbourne Ave., near King Street West and Dufferin Street. The children’s playground is being updated to increase accessibility and ensure it is in good condition for park users. The scope of work may include:

  • New and refurbished play elements
  • New universally accessible safety surfacing
  • Water bottle filling station
  • New pathways and seating

A virtual public meeting will be taking place to present the conceptual park design and gather feedback from the community. The Councillor will be in attendance.

The results from the virtual public meeting will inform a preferred conceptual design and the next steps of the park design.
