March 2022

The following design shows the location and key features for the new basketball court. Details of this design will be further developed before construction begins later in the summer.

Aerial map of the south west corner of Seven Oaks Park shows the location of the new basketball court, just south of the existing baseball diamond. New asphalt pathways run along the west and north sides of the basketball court, making the court accessible from sidewalk to the south and the parking lot to the west.

Key features include:

  • Full basketball court with two hoops, asphalt surface with multicolour acrylic coating, and two accessible benches on concrete pads
  • Accessible asphalt pathways connecting court to street sidewalk, baseball diamond, and proposed accessible parking stall in the park’s parking lot
  • Six new shade trees
  • Two existing trees to be removed

Seven Oaks Park is a 4.3 hectare park located at 372 Military Trail, near Neilson Road and Highway 401 in Scarborough. As part of Toronto’s 20-year Facilities Master Plan (FMP), City staff reviewed the existing basketball court facilities across the city to determine where there is a need for new or improved facilities, including basketball courts. A full basketball court with two hoops will be added to Seven Oaks Park in order to help address the shortage in the community.

Information about this project and ways to participate will be shared with the community on social media and/or posted on this web page.
