Final Playground Design

Community engagement for the playground design is complete. Based on community feedback, the playground will include:

  • A junior play structure for ages 1.5 to five years
  • A senior play structure for ages five to 12 years
  • One spinner bowl
  • One saddle spinner
  • A swing set with an infant swing and accessible swing
  • A bucket swing

Online Survey

From April 22 to May 8, 2022, feedback on multiple playground design options was collected in an online survey. The survey was promoted through paid social media ads, the local Councillor’s office, on-site signs and on this page. The survey received 396 responses.

Spring Garden Park is a small park located at 32 Meadow Crest Rd., west of Mimico Creek in the Sunnylea neighbourhood. The playground can be accessed by Springbrook Gardens to the north and Meadow Crest Road to the south. The playground currently includes:

  • One swing set
  • One small slide
  • One domed climber
  • One bench

The playground will be redesigned using feedback from the community. The redesigned playground is proposed to include:

  • A full playground redevelopment including accessible play equipment
  • An accessible pathway connecting to the new playground area
  • New accessible playground safety surfacing
  • New accessible seating
