The original project area was completed in June 2021. Additional areas requiring waterproofing repairs were found during construction and are currently being assessed.

The City is making improvements to Warden Hilltop Community Centre as part of a state-of-good-repair project to address water leak and drainage issues. The community centre will remain open during construction.

Warden Hilltop Community Centre is located near Warden Avenue and St. Clair Avenue East in Scarborough. The building’s foundation and roof structure require repairs in order to improve overall drainage and water issues in the north-east corner of the gymnasium. The scope of work includes:

  • Masonry and waterproofing repairs at the foundation walls
  • Roofing improvements
  • Drainage improvements
  • Repairs to the exterior finishes of the gymnasium
  • Repairs to the interior finishes of the gymnasium storage room and washrooms

August 2021

Additional areas requiring waterproofing repairs were found during construction. The scope of the project is planned to include additional repairs to the green roof.

June 2021

The following repairs to the community centre were completed.

December 2020

Foundation waterproofing repairs and site drainage improvements at the gym north wall are complete. Additional site restoration work and water leak repairs will be conducted in spring 2021.
