  • Late Fall/Winter 2020: Tender preparation and contract award
  • Spring 2021: Construction starts
  • Summer 2021: Construction complete

Project Complete

Construction is complete and the park reopens. The improvements include:

  • Additional play equipment, new safety surfacing and a new swing area
  • New outdoor fitness equipment
  • New sand play area
  • New drinking fountain
  • Accessible benches
  • Accessible pathway improvements
  • New fencing
  • New shrub plantings

The final concept plan for the Woolner Park improvements which outlines the existing amenities in the park and identifies the areas within the park that will be upgraded. The existing pavement within the park i.e. pathways and basketball courts are show in grey with new pathways and pavement shown in purple. The new swing set, new fitness area and the upgrade playground area are shown in yellow and will include engineered wood fibre safety surfacing.

Woolner Park is located at 735 Jane St., near St. Clair Avenue West. The City is making several improvements to the park based on feedback provided by the community at two public meetings in 2019. The project will include the following improvements:

  • New play equipment features (to be added to the existing play equipment program)
  • New safety surfacing
  • New swing-set at the south side of the park
  • Outdoor fitness area
  • Sand play area
  • New water fountain with dog bowl
  • Additional seating (benches)
  • Pathway improvements
  • New plantings
