The new park is planned to open in late summer 2023.

A new 2604 m2 park is being designed at 1087 Leslie St., located at the northeast corner of Leslie Street and Eglinton Avenue East.

  • Winter 2021: Community engagement and design development
  • Spring 2021: Finalize design
  • Summer 2021: Hire a construction team
  • August 2022: Construction starts
  • Late Summer 2023: Construction complete, park opens

The design for the new park includes:

  • Separated junior and senior playground areas located on the east side of the park
  • An overlook area at the s north-east corner of the park
  • A south entrance plaza and shade pergola with vines
  • A paved plaza entrance and walkway from the north-east and south-west corners of the park
  • Bike racks on the north-west corner of the park
  • Removal of the sloped amphitheatre seating area and expansion of the large open lawn area
  • Removal of the circuit pathway around the lawn area

June 2023

Construction for the new park started in August 2022. The design includes:

  • junior play equipment for ages two to five years
  • senior play equipment for ages five to 12 years
  • an open lawn area
  • a splash pad with resting stones
  • a shade structure
  • seating
  • lighting

The new park is planned to open in late summer 2023.

Design Finalized

Online Survey

From January 22 to February 14, 2021, an online survey was conducted to gather feedback on the early design plan and playground equipment options for the new park coming. The survey received 275 responses.
