Two new parks are coming to the Mimico-Queensway neighbourhood as a result of mixed-use development projects. The design for each park will be shaped through community engagement.

  • 2025: Hire a design team
  • Fall 2025 to Spring 2026: Community engagement and design development
  • Fall 2027 to Winter 2028: Detailed design
  • Spring 2029: Construction starts
  • Spring 2030: Construction complete

This park will be 1,407 m2 – a bit smaller than three NBA basketball courts – and located at the northeast corner of Audley Street and Newcastle Street. The park is associated with the mixed-use development project at:

  • 2 Audley St.
  • 10 Audley St.
  • 29 Portland St.
  • 31 Portland St.
  • 59 Portland St.
  • 71 Portland St.

This park will be 1,520 m2 – about the size of three NBA basketball courts – and located at the northwest corner of Audley Street and Newcastle Street. The park is associated with the mixed-use development project at:

  • 1 Audley St.
  • 8 Newcastle St.

In this phase, the City will collect feedback on the community’s preferred sports facilities, amenities and park features. This feedback will help inform the vision for each park and design options, which will be presented to the community for feedback in Community Engagement Phase 2.

The community engagement activity anticipated in this phase is an online survey.

In this phase, the City will present two to three design options for community feedback. The feedback will be used to develop a preferred design for each park.
