The City of Toronto is undertaking a study of Elm Street between Bay Street and Yonge Street. The Study will result in a new streetscape plan for Elm Street that will enhance walkability, pedestrian safety and accessibility while accommodating new development. The streetscape plan will consider elements like pedestrian safety and accessibility, heritage conservation, the urban tree canopy, and the inclusion of amenities such as sidewalk cafes and benches.
On July 24 and 25, 2024 City Council requested the Chief Planner and Executive Director, City Planning, in consultation with the General Manager, Transportation Services, to prepare a streetscape vision for Elm Street.
Current and Approved development applications within the Study Area are linked below. For specific inquiries, please contact the assigned Community Planner.
You can search for development applications within the surrounding area and across the City using the Application Information Centre (AIC).
The purpose of the community meeting was to share the study process and design concepts with a staff presentation followed by a discussion with the community to gain feedback about Elm Street Streetscape Vision.
