The City of Toronto is undertaking a study of Elm Street between Bay Street and Yonge Street. The Study will result in a new streetscape plan for Elm Street that will enhance walkability, pedestrian safety and accessibility while accommodating new development. The streetscape plan will consider elements like pedestrian safety and accessibility, heritage conservation, the urban tree canopy, and the inclusion of amenities such as sidewalk cafes and benches.

The Elm Street study area is generally bounded by the north and south sides of Elm Street, and Yonge Street to the east, and Bay Street to the west.
