The Ontario Land Tribunal has approved the King-Spadina Secondary Plan which is in-force as of August 14, 2023. It works together with the King-Spadina Public Realm Strategy which was adopted by City Council on July 14, 2021.
King Spadina is one of fastest growing parts of the Downtown that has evolved from having mostly employment (non-residential) uses into an area with a mix of uses including substantial residential. This update to the Secondary Plan builds on the Downtown Plan and recognizes that growth needs to happen in a way that contributes to liveability, is supported by necessary hard infrastructure and community facilities, and carefully responds to heritage and the character of the area.
