The City of Toronto is inviting residents to learn about and provide feedback on proposed road safety improvements and a new bikeway on Sloane Avenue, from Eglinton Avenue East to Victoria Park Avenue.
These improvements are intended to enhance safety for all road users, including pedestrians, people who cycle, take transit or drive. The bikeway would provide a new north-south cycling route alternative to Victoria Park Avenue and increase accessibility and safety through Sloane Avenue to the bikeway on Eglinton Avenue and nearby trails. There are no proposed changes to the number of motor vehicle travel lanes.
The project extends along Sloane Avenue between Eglinton Avenue East and Victoria Park.

The proposed safety improvements and bikeway would be completed as part of planned road resurfacing along Sloane Avenue scheduled to take place in 2026, and support the City’s commitment to the Vision Zero Road Safety Plan. The Plan’s goals are to eliminate traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries by making roads safer for everyone, with a focus on those most vulnerable, including seniors, school children, pedestrians and people cycling. The planned road resurfacing presents the most cost-effective opportunity to make these improvements.
