The After-School Recreation Care (ARC) Program is an initiative designed to help fill the gap in after-school care for children aged six to 12 years (ARC) and 10 to 15 years (CLASP) in the City of Toronto.
ARC serves children ages six to 12 years old and is designed to incorporate physical activity, nutrition education, health and wellness and local programming daily.
Community Leadership After School Program (CLASP) serves children 10-15 years of age and is built on principles of healthy youth development. The program is designed to enhance life skills by promoting physical activity, health & wellness, and community involvement through Leadership workshops.
ARC & CLASP are joint initiatives of the City of Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation Division and the Provincial Government of Ontario's Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport in partnership with the Toronto District School Board and the Toronto Catholic District School Board.

Where possible at certain locations, ARC staff provide a group walking escort to children who are within walking distance from their local school to the after-school location.
ARC curriculum is based on healthy child development, resiliency, fine arts, physical activity, character education, outdoor play, health and wellness, and nutrition.
Programs fill up quickly. In order to secure a space for your child in ARC/CLASP for the 2023-2024 school year, please register for the two ARC/CLASP sessions (Fall 2023, Winter/Spring 2024) on June 9 starting at 7 a.m. Registration is on-going throughout the school year however space is on a first come first serve basis.
