If you are selling your property or moving and need to request a final water meter reading, contact 311 by phone to provide the required information.
On your closing or moving date, reading will be obtained from the Meter Transmitter Unit (MTU) and a final bill will be issued. If the MTU is not sending readings at the time of final bill request, Toronto Water may be able to arrange an appointment to read the water meter. Alternatively, the customer may call 311 on or before closing with a water meter reading. A final reading fee will be added to the bill.
Location
The water meter is typically located in the basement, along the front wall and near the floor. Other common places include basement washrooms and laundry rooms.
