Contact Toronto Health Connection to report standing water under the following situations:

  1. Standing water on pool covers
  2. Outdoor man made containers (i.e. fountains, decorative ponds, outdoor furniture etc.)
  3. Standing water on private property such as Railway lands, GO Transit, TTC Property, TDSB, TCDSB, Toronto Hydro, Hydro One)

Other types of standing water on private property are investigated by Municipal Licensing & Standards

Pools
If you do not wish to open your pool in the summer, then you are required to maintain a dry cover on the pool, being sure to remove any standing water on top of the cover so as to avoid creating an environment for Vector Borne Diseases (West Nile virus). If your pool is closed, you will still be required to maintain a pool enclosure fence around the pool.
