Rouge Park is home to Toronto's only camping spot, the Glen Rouge Campground. The 8.7 hectare campground is located on the western bank of the Rouge River, conveniently located near major highways, public transit (TTC and GO Transit) and the various tourist attractions of downtown Toronto.
Glen Rouge Campground is a unique urban wilderness experience offering the best of both worlds for travelers. Nature enthusiasts can hike or paddle into the heart of the Rouge Park, an ecological treasure and the largest urban park in the country. Those looking for adventure in the City will also find the campground is just minutes away from tourist attractions - the Toronto Zoo, Lake Ontario beaches and a GO Train ride away from all the excitement of downtown Toronto. It's an ideal base for visiting the sandy beach and the many trails in Rouge Park.
The 8.7 hectare campground is equipped with 125 sites, including 87 that are fully-serviced for recreational vehicles and 11 that are designed specifically for backpackers. The facility is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, throughout the camping season and is equipped with public phones, firewood sales, washrooms with showers and laundry facilities.
The season opens in mid May to Thanksgiving. Visit the TRCA website for specific date, hours of operation and fees.
Rouge National Urban Park (including Rouge Beach Park and Glen Rouge Campground) is now managed by Parks Canada. Enforcement or maintenance requests should be made by contacting Parks Canada.
The Glen Rouge Campground is located off Highway #2 (Kingston Road), just north of Highway 401 and east of the Sheppard Avenue/Port Union Road interchange.
