In order to receive HHW pick up by Toxic Taxi:
- Business/commercial/industrial/charity/institutional customers are not eligible for this service.
- Only single family residential, RUAC (residential unit above commercial) & multi-residential properties are permitted to be serviced.
Reasons for non-collection of HHW:
- Incorrect set out - (i.e. box or bag is leaking; no lid on pail; substance is unlabelled/unknown)
- Box is taped shut and closed, should be open-topped container and labelled. Items must be visible and readily identifiable by collection staff
- Contained prohibited items (explosives, empty paint cans, fireworks, etc.)
- Materials are mixed together in one collection container
- Items placed out late, after 7:00 am on the scheduled pick up day
- Too many items, please call to book another pick up
- Item appears to be commercial or industrial in origin (ie. drum full of motor oil)
- Fluorescent tubes were not set out properly, they need to be in the original box or taped/bundled together in groups of 8. There might be too many fluorescent tubes, please do not stockpile, request a Toxic Taxi pick-up on a regular basis. Fluorescent tubes 8 feet and larger need to be delivered directly to the depot.
