The City does NOT provide specific translation services. Although we try our best to place election day staff with second languages in the voting place,  you should provide your own interpreter for the election by bringing a friend with you when you go to vote.

Anyone other than a candidate or a scrutineer may act as an interpreter for you. They must swear an oath that they will faithfully translate any communication between you and the election officials.

Your interpreter cannot go behind the voting screen and assist you with voting.

Written instructions on How to Vote are provided at the voting place in any language which the most recent and available Statistics Canada data shows was spoken and understood in the home by at least 2% of a ward's population.

Key Election Information (householder) and the How to Vote booklet will be available from the Voter Information pages in mid-September of an election cycle at www.toronto.ca/elections/voters
