The following information can be found on the interactive Drop-In Skating map:

  • Find a rink near you
  • Operational Status (notifications are only posted for closed status or service alerts, if no notice is posted there are no issues with the rink)
  • Skating programs and fees (including equipment requirements and age restrictions)

Useful skating links:

Rinks are maintained by Parks, Forestry & Recreation according to a pre-determined schedule, based on the intensity of use the particular rink receives. Some rinks have dedicated on-site staff, and others have a staff rover or flying squad that maintains the ice every 4 or 8 hours.

Most arenas have permits in place for the different programs occurring at their location. For programs that do not require a permit, visit www.toronto.ca/skate for drop-in programs (i.e. Leisure Skate and Shinny) or select Skating, Figure Skating, and Hockey Lessons to view registered instructional programs.

Skate Lending Library
The City of Toronto’s Skate Lending Library, in partnership with Desjardins Financial Group, brings free ice skates and helmet rentals to outdoor rinks in Toronto.

Skate Lending Library locations also have skate aids for use that help with balancing on the ice while learning how to skate. Further information including the Skate Lending Library van scheduled can be found by visiting the City's website.
