Description of Service / Summary

A permit is required for formal photography (of any kind, i.e. weddings, graduation etc.) or wedding ceremonies in City of Toronto parks.

Contact the Parks & Recreation Permit Line to obtain a photography permit for a City park. Park Supervisor approval is required for all photography permits. 

Photography Permits

All photography permits are booked with a minimum of two-hour slots and on the hour only.

Advanced booking is required for commercial or formal photography like:

  • extended photoshoots
  • wedding photography

where the set-up, equipment or staging requires exclusive use of space or inhibits the use of the space by other visitors.

Without a booking, City staff may ask you to leave if they feel you are interfering with the use of the facility by other visitors. Read General Terms and Conditions for etiquette and other rules.

Commercial Photography:

All commercial photography bookings require:

  • 3rd Party Liability Insurance in the amount of $2 million, listing the City of Toronto as additional insured
  • a map of the location being requested

How to Book:

  1. Contact Client Services – Park Bookings to find out if your preferred location, date and time is available
  2. Complete the application form
  3. Provide insurance and a map of the preferred location
  4. Pay the fee for the location

Wedding Photography Permits

Wedding Ceremony Permit Fees, locations, maximum occupancy, hours available are posted on the City website.

Permits can be booked and paid for online.
