Toronto City Council has unanimously approved changes to traffic and parking regulation amendments required to install approximately 8.5 kilometres of priority RapidTO bus lanes on Eglinton Avenue East, Kingston Road and Morning Side Avenue.
The RapidTO program, part of the TTC's 5-Year Service Plan and 10 Year Outlook, aims to move people more efficiently on transit by improving reliability, speed and capacity on some of the busiest surface transit routes in the city.
Only buses, wheel-trans and bikes area allowed on the bus lanes. Passenger vehicles should not travel in the lanes and may only enter the lanes when turning.
Striped red pavement treatment and dashed lane lines designate sections of the lanes were drivers can access driveways or make right turns. Solid lane line means that passenger vehicles should not enter the red lines
