The mobius loop symbol does NOT mean that the material is recyclable in the City of Toronto's Recycling Program.
The number inside the mobius loop is used for plastics and indicates the resin type of the product.
To make recycling as easy as possible, the City does not refer to plastics by their resin type.
In your collection calendar, on City promotional materials, and in the Waste Wizard, the types of items that can and cannot be recycled are listed.
Visit the City of Toronto website for a list of items accepted in the Recycling program.
Please DO NOT place the following in Recycling: food, containers with food still in them, clothing, black plastics, ceramics, toys, stand-up pouches, hoses, chains.
