Sewer and water service cards typically include information about the water and sewer connections going to a property. However, sometimes this documentation can be old, illegible and incomplete or not available.

Service cards may have:

  • Pipe material
  • Pipe size
  • Water connection location of where on the City property the connection is made.

A drawing will be on the card:

  • Distances between the curb and various water service attributes

Where to apply for service card retrieval:

  • If you would like to request a sewer or water service card for your property you can submit a service request online at https:\\www.toronto.ca\311
  • The City will respond to your request by email
  • The City will not take requests via email, all requests must go through the 311 online form

The City of Toronto does not guarantee that it has service cards for every address.

Possible Reasons for not being able to locate Water Card:

  • Historical properties may not have service cards if they pre-date the service card process and no work/repairs have been done since the property was built
  • New Properties may not have service cards created yet

Incomplete or Incorrect Information on Service Cards:

  • The information provided on service cards can vary based on the time period and area of the City it was created. Not all properties will have consistent and comprehensive water/sewer service information and in many cases are incomplete. Under this program, we can only provide the information we have available and advise the property owner how they can find the requested information themselves.
