A standpipe system with fire hose stations/cabinets are a requirement of the Ontario Building Code and Ontario Fire Code in certain occupancies.
A standpipe system consists of piping and hose connections installed throughout the building which provides reliable water to operational firefighters in the event of a fire incident. These fire stations that are equipped with valves and fire hoses are for the use of trained persons only.
