Description of Service / Summary 

This article provides information on how residents and visitors can report maintenance, repair, and cleanliness concerns at City of Toronto recreation centres, arenas, pools, and other recreational facilities.

Reporting Recreation Facility Concerns

Residents can report concerns about recreation facilities within the City of Toronto by contacting 311 or submitting an online service request.

Examples of Concerns

  • Building maintenance issues
  • Repairs and damaged assets
  • Heating, cooling, or temperature control issues
  • Water leaks and other water-related concerns
  • Snow and ice clearing
  • Cleanliness issues in common areas, including washrooms and change rooms
  • Graffiti on or within recreation facilities

Reporting Issues at Recreation Facilities

Visitors are encouraged to report immediate concerns directly to facility staff when available.

  • Report immediate issues at the facility's front desk.
  • Request updates on the status of the issue, if desired.
  • Recreation centre staff can submit a 311 service request on the visitor's behalf.
  • If staff are unavailable, visitors can contact 311 directly or submit a service request online.

Pool Issues 

  • Indoor (includes lap, spa, deep water, and shallow/ tot pools) 
  • Outdoor (includes shallow/ tot pools)  
  • Wading Pool – goes to Parks  

Building Fixtures 

  • Elevators
  • Furniture
  • Hair & Hand Dryers
  • Room Dividers
  • Other: Drinking Fountain, Door handles, etc.  

Facility Repair 

  • Windows
  • Doors
  • Walls  
  • Floors 

Accessibility 

  • Elevator not working
  • Automatic door not working  
  • Pool ramp not working
  • Pool lift issues
  • Accessible ramp issue
  • Mobility concern
  • Issues in accessible change spaces 

Water & Plumbing 

  • Leak 
  • Clogged drain, toilet
  • Broken fixture, shower head, faucet
  • Water temperature or pressure  
  • Other: Drinking Fountain, Kitchen Sink, etc.  

Heating & Cooling 

  • HVAC system failures affecting air temperature or ventilation
  • Excludes pool water temperature 
  • Does not include portable fans or heaters.  

What Happens After a Service Request Is Submitted

  • Recreation facility maintenance service requests are reviewed by Facility Operations staff.
  • If required, a work order will be created and scheduled to address the issue.

NOTE: Service requests cannot be submitted for Toronto District School Board (TDSB) facilities.
