Toronto Public Health (TPH) invites media to learn more about TPH’s food safety work behind the scenes in the early days of Toronto’s iconic summer celebration, the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE, also known as the Ex). On Monday, TPH staff will share the facts and figures of the work that has been done as part of DineSafe, TPH’s food safety inspection and disclosure program.

As part of the DineSafe program, health inspectors work in partnership with hundreds of food premise owners and operators at this event so residents and visitors can safely enjoy all of the food and drinks for which the Ex is known. Media will be provided with a walk-through of a vendor inspection.

Time: 10 a.m.
Opening remarks by Dr. Eileen de Villa, Toronto’s Medical Officer of Health
Remarks by Dr. Howard Shapiro, Associate Medical Officer of Health and Director, Healthy Environments
