Councillor Brad Bradford (Beaches-East York) will join residents, family members, volunteers, special guests and City of Toronto staff to celebrate True Davidson Acres’ 50 years of providing exemplary long-term care in East York.
Date: Monday, September 18
Time: 2 to 4 p.m. (ceremony from 2:30 to 3 p.m.)
Location: 200 Dawes Rd.
Note: Onsite parking is available but limited. City staff will be available to assist.
A special ceremony will include unveiling a plaque and tree planting. Entertainment for guests to enjoy will include caricature, balloon artists and musicians.
True Davidson Acres is one of 10 City-operated long-term care homes and currently houses 187 residents. Opened in 1973, it was fully renovated in 2005. Architect Jerome Markson received the 1977 Design Excellence Award by the Ontario Association of Architects for the building’s unique design and effective use of landscape.
