Toronto Mayor John Tory will be joined by Deputy Mayor Michael Thompson (Ward 21 Scarborough Centre), Aina-Nia Grant, manager of the City of Toronto’s Confronting Anti-Black Racism (CABR) Unit, and Partnership Accountability Circle members to bring a close to Emancipation Month, a commemoration of the abolition of slavery in Canada.

Tomorrow’s event will feature the screening of a video to reflect on the first year of activity for the CABR Unit and a drumming performance by Quammie Rudi Williams and company, and will conclude with a procession to the Diversity Garden behind City Hall.
