Mayor John Tory and Councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam (Ward 13 Toronto Centre) will be joined by Heather Ann McConnell, daughter of the late former Councillor Pam McConnell, on International Women’s Day to present the Pam McConnell Young Women in Leadership Award. This year’s recipients are Ishita Aggarwal and Alyssa Luttenberger.

Date: Friday, March 8
Time: 6 p.m. (ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m.)
Location: Toronto City Hall, Rotunda, 100 Queen St. W.

The award, created in 2018 in memory of the late Deputy Mayor, recognizes young Toronto women who demonstrate leadership in volunteerism, commitment to social justice and are an inspiration to their peers. Throughout her career, Pam McConnell was a social justice advocate and worked tirelessly to increase women’s participation in municipal government.
