On Monday, Mayor Olivia Chow will be joined by Councillor Chris Moise (Toronto Centre), Chair of the Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Advisory Committee, to mark the start of the City of Toronto’s Pride Month celebrations with a flag raising ceremony at Toronto City Hall.

The Pride Flag will be raised in celebration of the history, courage and contributions of Toronto’s Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer and Questioning (2SLGBTQ+) residents and communities.

The event will feature remarks and performances celebrating Toronto’s diverse 2SLGBTQ+ communities and the City’s ongoing commitment to equity, inclusion and belonging. The Toronto Sign will also be lit in rainbow colours in honour of Pride Month.

This year’s Pride Month festivities run from Sunday, June 1 to Monday, June 30 culminating in the Pride Parade, one of the largest cultural events of its kind in North America, on Sunday, June 29.
