The City of Toronto will raise the Toronto Argonauts flag to celebrate the team’s 2025 home opener, taking place on Saturday, June 14 at BMO Field. Founded in 1873, the Toronto Argonauts are the oldest existing professional sports team in North America still using its original name.

The ceremony will include remarks by Mayor Olivia Chow and Michael “Pinball” Clemons, General Manager of the Argos and Toronto Sport Hall of Honour Class of 2024 inductee, with a special appearance from Jason the Argonaut, the team’s mascot.
To mark the occasion, the Toronto Sign at Nathan Phillips Square will be lit in Double Blue on Saturday to celebrate the home opener. Fans are invited to join the celebration and show their Double Blue pride.
