Deputy Mayor Stephen Holyday (Ward 2 Etobicoke Centre) will be joined by members of the Canadian Armed Forces and Marc Trouyet, Consul General of France, who will invest the insignia of Knight of the Legion of Honour upon William George Carpenter, a Canadian Armed Forces Second World War veteran and resident of Kipling Acres, one of the City of Toronto’s 10 Long-Term Care Homes. Mr. Carpenter will be welcomed as a Knight in the French National Order of the Legion of Honour for his involvement in the liberation of France during the Second World War.

The ceremony will include bagpipe performances as well as performances by the West Acres choir.
