Mayor John Tory will be joined tomorrow by representatives from Toronto Community Housing (TCHC), East Scarborough Boys and Girls Club and Street Art Toronto, as well as lead artist Amir Akbari and other members of the local community to officially unveil the largest community-painted mural in Scarborough.

Date: Saturday, October 19
Time: Speakers at 3:30 p.m. (event time is 3 to 5 p.m.)
Location: 3847 Lawrence Ave. E. (parking lot adjacent to the building)

Work on the new mural, which is on the side of a 14-storey TCHC building, began this summer and was completed in late September. The official community unveiling will include speakers, a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a plaque presentation.

This project was completed with support from the StreetARToronto (StART) Partnership Program. More information about the suite of initiatives offered by StART is available at http://www.toronto.ca/streetartoronto.
