Mayor John Tory will be joined by Councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam (Ward 13 Toronto Centre), other members of Toronto City Council and representatives of Pride Toronto to officially proclaim June as Pride Month in Toronto and raise the rainbow and transgender flags at City Hall.

Date: Tuesday, June 4
Time: 12:30 p.m.
Location: Podium roof, Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen St. W.

The ceremony will also recognize the anniversary of the Stonewall riots, which are considered to be a landmark event that started a world-changing LGBTQ2S+ movement 50 years ago.

This year’s Pride Festival runs from June 1 to 23, culminating with the Festival Weekend from June 21 to 23. Pride Month, recognized locally and internationally as a premier arts and cultural event for Toronto, will showcase the history, courage and diversity of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, queer, questioning and Two-Spirit communities (LGBTQ2S+), and will again include one of North America’s largest annual Pride parades.
