City of Toronto staff, the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), Councillor James Pasternak (Ward 6 York Centre), Chair of the Infrastructure and Environment Committee and Councillor Joe Cressy (Ward 10 Spadina-Fort York) will be available to provide media with an overview of the flood mitigation measures underway at Toronto Island Park and the work that City crews are doing to prepare for forecasted wind expected on Thursday. Staff will also provide an update on the condition of Toronto beaches.

Location: Meet just beyond the Ward’s Island Ferry Dock, on island side

Non-essential vehicles are not permitted on the island. Media can take the Ward’s Island ferry from the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal. The ferry departs every 30 minutes at 9:45 and 10:45 a.m. Water taxis are also available.
