Team Toronto has now administered more than 6.7 million first, second and third doses of COVID-19 vaccine to help protect our city from COVID-19.
Continuing vaccination efforts have resulted in 91.1 per cent of eligible Toronto residents age 12 and older having received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, with more than 88.3 per cent having received two doses. As of Thursday, 52.2 per cent of eligible residents have received their third dose.
Team Toronto and its partners continue to remove barriers to vaccination and provide opportunities to Toronto residents to get their first, second or third dose, with a focus on neighbourhoods with lower vaccine uptake.
Vax the East: Scarborough continues today, with schools across Scarborough hosting mobile clinics providing first, second, third and pediatric COVID-19 vaccine doses to students, school staff, families and the general school community. Vax The East: Scarborough’s hyper-local pop-up vaccination clinics will be active today during the school PA day and throughout the Family Day long weekend, including Monday, February 21. Details on schools hosting clinics, hours and appointments are available on the Scarborough COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic webpage.
All Vax The East pop-up clinics accept walk-ins. The clinics offer both Pfizer and Moderna and health cards are not required for vaccination. Vax The East clinics have been designed with children and families in mind and offer a calm and kid-friendly vaccination experience for children and youth in a safe and familiar setting. The clinics feature kid-approved activities and children who get vaccinated will also be awarded a special “certificate of bravery” for their courage.
Vax The East: Scarborough follows last weekend’s successful Vax the East kick-off at the Ontario Science Centre in Flemingdon Park and the Thorncliffe Park Community Hub at East York Town Centre where a total of 1,760 people received COVID-19 vaccines. In addition to Vax The East pop-up clinics, residents can get vaccines at hospital partner clinics, primary care offices and over 525 pharmacies across the city. All five City-run clinics also continue to offer first, second, third and pediatric doses, and accept walk-ins and appointments.
Appointments for City-run vaccination clinics can also be booked online through the provincial booking system or by calling 1-833-943-3900. Starting today at 8 a.m., residents 12 to 17 years old will be able to book their third-dose appointment at any City-run clinic. All City clinics are also accepting walk-ins including for third doses for ages 12 to 17. Residents between the ages of 12 and 17 are eligible for a third dose if approximately six months (168 days) have passed since their second dose.
Toronto Public Health continues to urge all residents to get their first, second and third dose, if eligible, and if they have not already done so. COVID-19 vaccines have been scientifically proven to lower the risk of illness, hospitalization and death while protecting oneself, loved ones, and the community. Recent Toronto Public Health data shows that residents with three doses had the lowest rates of hospitalization, ICU and death over any other level of vaccination.
More information about vaccination options across the city is available on the City’s COVID-19: How to Get Vaccinated webpage.

“Reaching 6.7 million COVID-19 vaccine doses is a remarkable Team Toronto accomplishment. Thank you to every Torontonian who is helping to protect themselves, their loved ones, and our city by getting their shots. We’ve made great progress, and we’ll continue to work with communities and residents across our city to make vaccines accessible, break down barriers, and encourage everyone to get vaccinated.”
– Councillor Joe Cressy (Spadina-Fort York), Chair of the Toronto Board of Health
“I want to thank Team Toronto members and partners for continuing to deliver first, second, third, and children’s doses of COVID-19 vaccine to protect our city. Throughout the Omicron wave, individuals with three doses of vaccine had the lowest hospitalization, intensive care unit admissions, and deaths over any other level of vaccination. As we move into the next phase of reopening, I urge all eligible residents to get an extra layer of protection from serious consequences linked to COVID-19 by getting their third dose of vaccine.”
– Dr. Eileen de Villa, Toronto’s Medical Officer of Health
