Toronto’s Ursula Franklin Academy will be receive a $5,000 cheque on Monday thanks to two of its students having won first place in You Are the Strongest Link, a “viral video” contest sponsored by Toronto Paramedic Services’ Safe City Program and Enbridge Gas to promote awareness of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

The award ceremony and cheque presentation takes place during a school assembly hosted by principal Georgia Gallagher and Commander Jon Lane of Toronto Paramedic Services’ Safe City Program. Tracey Teed Martin will participate as representative of prize sponsor Enbridge Gas.

The contest was launched to motivate students to help foster awareness of the importance of bystander CPR in saving the life of someone suffering sudden cardiac arrest. More information about the contest is available at http://www.youarethestrongestlink.ca/.
