Tomorrow, Toronto Fire Chief Jim Jessop and members of Toronto Fire Services will welcome 70 firefighters arriving by bike at the Toronto Fire Academy. The cyclists, led by members of the Toronto Professional Firefighter Celtic Society, will pass through Toronto tomorrow during their annual memorial ride from Hamilton to the Canadian Firefighters Memorial in Ottawa.  

Date: Wednesday, September 3 
Time: Noon to 1 p.m. 
Location: Toronto Fire Academy, 895 Eastern Ave.

Now in its ninth year, the three-day, 575-kilometre bike ride aims to raise awareness of and funds for the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The ride also serves as a tribute to the firefighters being added to the Canadian Firefighters Memorial in Ottawa this fall.  

This year, 70 riders from 18 Ontario fire departments are taking part including 26 representatives of Toronto Fire Services.
