To celebrate May is Museum Month, Toronto History Museums will offer a range of programs to engage with residents across the city. Mayor John Tory has also proclaimed the month of May as Museum Month.

This month-long celebration recognizes International Museum Day on May 18 and the contribution of museums to the vitality and health of communities.

Celebrated annually, the 2019 May is Museums Month will include an inaugural Youth Day at Scarborough Museum that will engage local youth and youth-focused organizations in activities on the museum grounds. There will also be a series of 12 Jane’s Walks from all museum locations (May 4 and 5), afternoon tea parties, acoustic concerts and unique Mother’s Day experiences (May 11 and 12), selfie tours amidst period furnishings and costumes (May 18), and one of the city’s largest Victoria Day celebrations at Fort York National Historic Site (May 20).
On May 25 and 26, the 20th anniversary of Doors Open Toronto presented by Great Gulf will offer free admission to some of the most architecturally, historically, culturally and socially significant buildings across Toronto, including all Toronto History Museums.
